How to Have Multiple Firefox Browsers

By February 5, 2016 Tech

If you are a Firefox user and do any sort of Internet Marketing or Business Online then having multiple Firefox browsers will definitely help you be more productive.

This little trick is also useful for students and even general computer users.

I personally use multiple Firefox Browsers/Accounts, technically known as Firefox profiles everyday to accomplished various tasks. As a matter of fact, I currently have 4 different Firefox icons set-up on my desktop for quick and easy access.

You may be wondering, why on earth would someone need so multiple Firefox browsers?
One is enough right?

Well, that really depends…

Having multiple Firefox browsers allows you to configure each one differently.
It also lets you store different information in each browser.

Below is how I use multiple Firefox browsers:

1. The Default Browser has my personal bookmarks, saved passwords, add-ons, history and general usage data.

2. The Peter Website Browser contains data that is very closely related to my website.
This makes life a lot easier for me as I do not need to log in and out of various accounts to perform certain tasks.
Posting on forums for example. I am always logged in and ready to go!

3. The SEO Browser contains specific add-ons that I need in order to effectively perform search engine optimization related activities.

4. The Training Browser is what I use when I create training videos. This profile has been set-up to completely delete all data (browsing history, etc) each time it’s closed so next time I open it up it starts fresh and I’m ready to go.

Of course you can complete the same tasks using a single Firefox browser, but it will be inconvenient especially if you need to continuously log in and out of multiple accounts to perform your tasks.

Having multiple Firefox browsers will help you effectively organize your information which means you will be able to access certain accounts and accomplish certain tasks much more efficiently.

How to Create Multiple Firefox Browsers:

1. Right-click on your Mozilla Firefox browser and click on Properties.

2. In the Target field you will see the path of where your Firefox is installed. Go to the very end and type -P
Example: “C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe” -P

3. Click on Apply and then OK

4. Double click on your Mozilla Firefox browser and a little window should open.
This shows all of your Firefox profiles.

5. Click on Create Profileā€¦

6. Type in what you would like to call your new Firefox Profile.
In my video example I wrote Marketing.

7. Press Finish.

8. You will now see your new Profile in the list.
We now need to set the default browser to use the default Profile.

9. Double-click on default and your browser should open.
Close it.

10. Right-click on the Mozilla Firefox icon and click on Properties.

11. Go to the Target field and remove the -P you previously added.

12. Press Apply and then OK.

13. Right-click on the Mozilla Firefox icon and click on Create shortcut.

14. Right-click on the Mozilla Firefox shortcut you just created and click on Properties.
